Mrs A’s Music School is owned by Deon and Jannette Aldridge, Jannette being the manager. They have a team of 12 part-time music teachers across Timaru, Waimate and Christchurch and currently help over 250 students at various ages and stages, ‘release the music'.
Jannette is Mrs A. Her goal is to help people of all ages and stages unleash the musical potential that everyone has. Teaching in school classrooms and private studios for over 30 years, has given her the experience to find the recipe.
Elsie Finlay, Jannette’s late mother, passed on a legacy – a belief that everyone needs music and is better off once it’s released. She knitted jerseys & socks to fund music lessons for her four children and ignited the passion for music in them all.
"Through learning music, people find purpose and are often surprised at what they achieve. Some even find extraordinary talent.”
Music creates a healthy, clever brain, so learning music at a young age is a real gift. Mature students also rediscover themselves when they dust off their instruments and start working on their bucket list. You are never too old.
Experiencing genuine progress motivates students to practice and boost personal confidence, but finding the right recipe is the key to enjoying music lessons. This means Identifying a student’s learning style while making lessons relevant by choosing material and using methods that fit each student individually.
“I am so blessed to have a job that is also my hobby. My husband, also a musician, is my business partner and coach. We are both passionate about enabling people to enjoy music.”
